Auschwitz and Voltaire

To people who blame Auschwitz on Voltaire, I say that the invention of the wheel is the cause of many contemporary problems.

Alphabets have killed millions.

Blaming Communism on Voltaire and Rousseau I go along with, to a certain extent at least.

  1. I've read two books about Auschwitz ("If This Is a Man" - Primo Levi, "Auschwitz: A Doctor’s Eyewitness Account" - Miklos Nyiszli), I've also read Voltaire's "Candide", but I honestly don't know the connection between the two. I should probably read more carefully.

Anyway, who said that it's people who kill people, not guns (or alphabets) - was right.

"They've got the guns, but we've got the numbers (lyrics)" - The Doors.
