Murders

SHARE
The Japanese have strict gun laws and a low murder rate. The Japanese in the USA commit remarkably few murders despite easily available guns.

This is not an argument for or against gun control. It's a reminder of reality.

  1. I always argued it was about culture, ultimately, not laws. Russia and Lithuania have ridiculously high murder rates in comparison to other white-majority countries, yet strict gun control (officially). Brazil, Mexico etc have strong gun control laws as well, and surreal murder rates. Switzerland and the nordic European countries have a pretty well developed gun culture, yet very low rates of firearm violence. Culture and social mores are stronger than laws ultimately.
